Well, this Television Personalities tribute album is a hidden gem! I'm ashamed to say that TVPs were one of those revered (in indiepop circles) bands that I've never got around to listening to as much as I probably should have. I shall remedy this straight away! 🎧🎶

Highlights: Jeanines, The Kitchenettes, The 1981 (year of my birth! 😏), The Telephone Numbers. Curated by the brilliant Dandy Boy Records, out of Oakland, California. 

Drizzly. ~ Bitter to See You

I just can't get enough of this debut single from all-woman Indonesian pop-group Drizzly.: short, sweet, and neat as a pin. 

Then there's the delightful follow-up single, If We Know Each Other Well Enough, Maybe We Can Go on a Date (featuring Raka Pradana). 

I hope they make more music very soon! 😺

I haven't posted for a while, sorry 'bout that! While I've been stuck indoors this past week recovering from Covid, the new records from Ex-Vöid (London), No Suits in Miami (Lund, Sweden), and Yumi Zouma (Christchurch, NZ) have been giving me life. 😍 Here's a taster. Enjoy! ♥

 

No Suits in Miami ~ The Robins Sang

Hello, is it me you're looking for? That's right, All Dressed Up in Dreams is back for 2022! 

I have had this new single from No Suits in Miami on repeat all week, which I can only describe as pure Sarah Records; an energising slice of catchy janglepop goodness. I really hope there is a new album in the offing. 🤞 Update: there is!

The Blue Herons ~ Go On

Reminiscent of Club 8's early singles or Red Sleeping Beauty (the band), this was an enchanting find: fresh and sweet janglepop. 

   

The vocalist, Gretchen DeVault, sounded very familiar, so I did some digging: turns out she was a member of indiepop's The Icicles, whose Snowman Song is one of my favourite wintry-themed tracks of all time! ☃️❄️

 

Real Numbers ~ Brighter Then

I'm loving Real Numbers' jangly new tune Brighter Then, a taster from their forthcoming EP of the same name. 💙 Releases 22nd January 2021 on Slumberland Records and Meritorio Records. 

Star Tropics ~ Running Scared

Star Tropics are one of my fave bands of the moment: Chicago-based purveyors of sweet boy/girl dreampop. I'm excited for the upcoming album! 💖
