Just a little snippet from when I went to see Augustine at Hootananny in Brixton this month. He was absolutely amazing. It was hot, loud and packed to the rafters, as every good gig should be!

Salt Lake Alley ~ Bankrobber
Continuing with the covers theme, this is Stockholm duo Salt Lake Alley - one of my top favourites of the last few years - putting their own jangly spin on The Clash. Gustav and Mikael say:
"We tried to approach it like The Byrds approached Bob Dylan’s Mr Tambourine Man. In the end it probably sounds more like the UK circa 1989 than Laurel Canyon circa 1965."
I say: "Certified banger!" ๐

I haven't posted for a while, sorry 'bout that! While I've been stuck indoors this past week recovering from Covid, the new records from Ex-Vรถid (London), No Suits in Miami (Lund, Sweden), and Yumi Zouma (Christchurch, NZ) have been giving me life. ๐ Here's a taster. Enjoy! ♥

No Suits in Miami ~ The Robins Sang
Hello, is it me you're looking for? That's right, All Dressed Up in Dreams is back for 2022!
I have had this new single from No Suits in Miami on repeat all week, which I can only describe as pure Sarah Records; an energising slice of catchy janglepop goodness. I really hope there is a new album in the offing. ๐ค Update: there is!

Westkust ~ Cotton Skies
With the UK's seemingly interminable Covid lockdown restrictions apparently lifting by June, for once I feel cautiously optimistic about the summer, and the prospect of getting out to see some bands again. This blissful noisepop song by Westkust makes me feel at once hopeful and nostalgic, if that's possible. Hope in a song.

They've still got it! I adore the Radio Dept. ๐ค
